Putting up a satellite dish at the Hotel Villa Blanca in Cozumel,
my home for three years, with the help of friends.
Sub-tropical climate, satellites, green feathered
parrots, iguanas.
August air can get so so thick that you can almost swim instead of walk.
Tap water that could not be drunk and sheets so damp, if it were not for the
mosquitos and scorpions you would go native and sleep in a hammock.
What fun! Such wonderful people! So many beautiful things to experience!
Once I startled a pair of resting pink flamingos,
watched them unfold
and
dissolve into the pale light of dawn.
In Cozumel
the sky is always beautiful
and even the rain,
like its people,
warm and welcoming
